Manchester city striker Emmanuel Adebayor is being linked with a move to France. City are keen to sell the striker this summer but have so far struggled to find a buyer.

But Marseille are in the market for a frontman and could be set to launch a bid.

The 27-year-old spent the last six months the season on loan at Real Madrid, but the Spanish side decided not to take up their option to make Adebayor’s stay permanent.

The forward dismissed a potential move to Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg earlier this week, and it remains to be seen if he would be open to a return to France, having previously played for Metz and Monaco before moving to Arsenal in January 2006.
