Ribery still important for Bayern

Bayern Munich’s David Alaba announced that even with all the injuries that Franck Ribery has been sustaining for the past 2 seasons, the French winger still has an important role to play in Bayern Munich and the Austrian defender is confident that Ribery will be able to make his return into the playing grounds and bounce back from all of his recent physical struggles.

David Alaba said: “Franck is a guy who is very strong mentally. I am not too worried about him. He wants to make his comeback as soon as possible and is working hard to achieve that. Bayern still need Ribery. Franck can become very important for us once more.”

In 2013, Franck Ribery made it into the top 3 shortlist of players that were being considered to receive the Ballon d’Or of that year and the Frenchman is now struggling just to get into the pitch with persistent injuries that have hampered his playing in recent times.

A few days ago Arjen Robben stated that he misses his teammate Franck Ribery and that the absence of the French player makes things much more difficult for Bayern Munch as Ribery along with Robben are considered to be the main attacking figures of the German club and are labeled as the best wingers in the world of football.

Bayern Munich revealed that Franck Ribery should be able to return to the playing grounds in September but the German club has not revealed an exact date.

During the absence of Franck Ribery, Douglas Costa has stepped up to fill in the boots. Douglas Costa is a Brazilian winger who was signed by Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window for a price tag of €30 million in a 5 year long contract. With Ribery, Robben and Costa, along with Muller and Lewandowski, Bayern are set to dominate the league once more, with the current live odds on StanJames betting for them having the League’s top goalscorer at evens!?

Costa has been doing a superb job in his new club as he provided 2 assists and also scored a goal of his own during Bayern Munich’s 5-0 victory over Hamburg. It’s been less than 1 month since Douglas Costa has arrived to the Allianz Arena but is already proving to be a successful transfer and he is someone who can possibly replace Ribery or Robben in the wings after they decide to retire.
