On the 24th of December 1989, Alfredo Di Stéfano was awarded an honorary
Ballon d’Or. This was how France Football showed their appreciation of the
wonderful career of the Real Madrid legend. Considered to be one of the
greatest players in history, he amazed the world by leading Real Madrid to
victory in the first five consecutive European Cups and, during his playing
career, he won the Ballon d’Or in 1957 and 1959.
The magazine France Football decided to give this award to recognize the
best player in European football since the creation of the Ballon d’Or
prize, and Di Stéfano was eventually chosen ahead of Cruyff and Platini.
Since 24 years ago, the ‘Blond Arrow’ has gone down in history as the only
player to receive an honorary Ballon d’Or

Hes best soccer all times
Fantastic highlights. If there was a modern player has a similar style of
play it would be Zinedine Zidane.
