PARDEW ANXIOUS

Alan Pardew has stated that he is anxious about the transfer window and says that he wants it to end as soon as possible since there is a danger of losing one of his best players. Midfielder Yohan Cabaye has been linked with a move away from the club with the likes of Paris St Germain and Manchester United showing interest. PSG have been interested in the Frenchman for quite a while, but they have been publicly speaking about him in the last few weeks. Due to the enormous financial muscle, they have the capability to come in with a £ 25 million offer for him.

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley, who has been struggling to run the club, will without doubt accept such an enormous offer should it come between now and the end of the transfer window. Even though this would be good for the club financially, it will be a very difficult situation for Pardew. He has managed to exceed expectations so far, as Newcastle have gone on a good run of form in the last few months. This has propelled them to the eighth place in the table and they are just one place below Manchester United.

This has increased the talk of Newcastle potentially finishing in the top five once again.

“All the transfer windows as manager of Newcastle are nervy and I will be nervous until it closes. Everybody is for sale at some price, but we’re conscious that we have a good team and we will try to keep it together. Yohan has almost a free role in the No. 10 shirt and he has enjoyed that. He has added goals to his game. The first one was a class individual goal – the touch and the way he moved and the sublime moment he took to finish it,” said Pardew.
